Pink Floyd - The Final Cut (1983)

| 1. The Post War Dream |
2. Your Possible Pasts
They flutter behind you your possible pasts,
Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost.
A warning to anyone still in command
[Cattle truck noises]
"Ranks! Fire!"
Of their possible future, to take care.
In derelict sidings the poppies entwine
With cattle trucks lying in wait for the next time.
Do you remember me? How we used to be?
Do you think we should be closer?
She stood in the doorway, the ghost of a smile
Haunting her face like a cheap hotel sign.
Her cold eyes imploring the men in their macs
For the gold in their bags or the knives in their backs.
Stepping up boldly one put out his hand.
He said, "I was just a child then, now I'm only a man."
Do you remember me? How we used to be?
Do you think we should be closer?
By the cold and religious we were taken in hand
Shown how to feel good and told to feel bad.
Tongue tied and terrified we learned how to pray
Now our feelings run deep and cold as the clay.
And strung out behind us the banners and flags
Of our possible pasts lie in tatters and rags.
Do you remember me? How we used to be?
Do you think we should be closer?
3. One of the Few
When you're one of the few to land on your feet
What do you do to make ends meet?
Teach.
Make them mad, make them sad, make them add two and two.
Make them me, make them you, make them do what you want them to.
Make them laugh, make them cry, make them lie down and die.
4. When the Tigers Broke Free
It was just before dawn
One miserable morning in black 'forty four.
When the forward commander
Was told to sit tight
When he asked that his men be withdrawn.
And the Generals gave thanks
As the other ranks held back
The enemy tanks for a while.
And that's how the Anzio bridgehead
Was held for the price
Of a few hundred ordinary lives.
And kind old King George
Sent Mother a note
When he heard that father was gone.
It was, I recall,
In the form of a scroll,
With gold leaf and all.
And I found it one day
In a drawer of old photographs, hidden away.
And my eyes still grow damp to remember
His Majesty signed
With his own rubber stamp.
It was dark all around.
There was frost in the ground
When the tigers broke free.
And no one survived
From the Royal Fusiliers Company C.
They were all left behind,
Most of them dead,
The rest of them dying.
And that's how the High Command
Took my daddy from me.
5. The Hero's Return
Jesus, Jesus, what's it all about?
Trying to clout these little ingrates into shape.
When I was their age all the lights went out.
There was no time to whine or mope about.
And even now part of me flies over
Dresden at angels one five.
Though they'll never fathom it behind my
Sarcasm desperate memories lie.
Sweetheart sweetheart are you fast asleep? Good.
'Cause that's the only time that I can really speak to you.
And there is something that I've locked away
A memory that is too painful
To withstand the light of day.
When we came back from the war the banners and
Flags hung on everyone's door.
We danced and we sang in the street and
The church bells rang.
But burning in my heart
My memory smolders on
Of the gunners dying words on the intercom.

Portishead - Third

(Portishead - Machine Gun)
I saw the savior,
and the savior come my way
I thought I'd see it
In the cold light of day
But now I realize, that I'm only for me
if only I could see, return myself to me,
and recognize the poison in my heart
there is no other place, no one else I face
The remedy will break with how I feel
Here am I reflecting
what more can I say
for I am guilty
for the voice that I have made
too scared to sacrifice a choice
chosen for me
If only I could see
return myself to me
and recognize the poison in my heart
there is no other place
no one else I face
The remedy will agree with how I feel.

Dälek - Abandoned Language (2007)

- Abandoned Language: ένα χαλαρό 10-λεπτο κομμάτι όπου ο θόρυβος είναι σε χαμηλά επίπεδα: "Turn the page motherfucker ‘cause the story’s all scripted - six hundred years ain’t a fucking thing different"
- Content To Play Villain: η Jazz πλευρά του άλμπουμ
- Stagnant Waters: όπως το λέει και ο τίτλος εδώ βουλιάζεις και άλλο στη λάσπη και βρώμικα νερά ειδικά όταν συνειδητοποιείς τους στίχους "Men and women shed tears when our people get shot, multiplied fears turn person to flock" και "Epitaphs have no authors, patient paupers, my nation of authors turn lawless"
- Starved For The Truth: εδώ μπλέκουν πολύ όμορφα τη Jazz Rock με το Hip Hop
