Radiohead - In Rainbows


Ποιοι είναι πιο παλαβοί, οι Radiohead που μοιράζουν δωρεάν το νέο δίσκο τους ή αυτοί που πληρώνουν για να το κατεβάσουν;
Το συγκρότημα πουλάει το "In Rainbows" στη τιμή των 0.00£ ή σε όποιο ποσό επιθυμεί ο καθένας, κάτι σαν φιλοδώρημα δηλαδή, και μάλιστα για ένα άλμπουμ που το ετοίμαζαν δύο χρόνια τώρα. Οι Radiohead ανήκουν στη κατηγορία των μεγάλων γκρουπ και φαινομενικά δεν θα είχαν ανάγκη να το κάνουν αυτό. Ούτε πουλάνε ούτε χαρίζουν, αλλά κάνουν και τα δύο μαζί.

Οι μετριοπαθείς Radiohead καταφέρνουν τα εξής:
  • Χτυπάνε τις μουσικές εταιρείες και τα ακόρεστα στελέχη τους
  • Αφήνουν τους καταναλωτές να αποφασίσουν ποια θα είναι η τιμή αγοράς του προϊόντος, κατεβάζοντας το ακόμα και τσάμπα χωρίς να νιώθουν ότι κλέβουν τους καλλιτέχνες
  • Επιβεβαιώνουν τον μοντερνισμό τους, όχι μόνο μουσικά όπως έκαναν στα '90s αλλά και οικονομολογικά
  • Παίρνουν με το μέρος τους καταναλωτές, που δεν ήταν φαν μόνο και μόνο γιατί προτείνουν ένα νέο μοντέλο στην μουσική αγορά
  • Δεν ευτελίζουν το δημιούργημά τους (κατώτερη ποιότητα mp3 cd κλπ) γιατί αυτοί που θα το εκτιμήσουν πραγματικά (και θα τους αξίζει να το έχουν) θα το αγοράσουν σε βινύλιο
Από καλλιτεχνικής άποψης, με τις πρώτες ακροάσεις, μου φάνηκε αρκετά καλό, στη τελική μορφή του το φαντάζομαι αρτιότερο και όσο για τα υπόλοιπα θα δείξει ο καιρός.

Οι μόνοι που αξίζουν για μένα είναι οι τρελοί, αυτοί που τρελαίνονται να ζήσουν, να μιλήσουν, να σωθούν, που ποθούν τα πάντα την ίδια στιγμή, αυτοί που ποτέ δεν χασμουριώνται ή δεν λένε κοινότοπα πράγματα, αλλά που καίγονται, καίγονται σαν τα μυθικά κίτρινα Ρωμαϊκά κεριά…
